Who should attend?

Anyone who is interested in the health and welfare of our most valuable asset – the PLAYERS!! From healthcare providers including physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, chiropractors, massage therapists, nutritionists, nurses to coaches, administrators and more.

Where will the symposium be held?

The symposium location for 2019 will be the Excalibur Hotel & Casino – Ballroom EFG.  The ICIR Course will be held at the Luxor Hotel & Casino- Galleria Lotus 3.

When does the course start and end?

The 2019 meeting will start on Thursday February 28th and end on March 1st.  Please note that the Immediate Care Course (ICIR) will precede the symposium and start on February 27th and end on February 28th.

What is the dress code for the day?

We recommend business casual or smart casual for the symposium and social reception that immediately follows. We are always striving for professionalism and first impressions make a difference. This is an excellent opportunity to network with your peers!  For those attending the ICIR course, please dress for comfort as you will be active in providing on-field emergency training.

What are the details of the Social Reception on Thursday evening?

The Thursday night social will immediately follow the meeting. It will be held in Ballroom ABC which is adjacent to the lecture hall.  This social reception is private and only available to attendees registered for the medical symposium.

Are meals provided as part of included symposium?

Attendees that are registered for the full symposium will be offered a light breakfast on Friday morning prior to the start of the sessions.

What are the dining options at the hotel?

Will there be exhibitors?

YES – without our sponsors and exhibitors we would not be able to put together this great conference. Please visit our supporters page to see who will be attending. We strongly encourage attendees to spend time with each exhibitor to learn more about their products and services. There will be several exhibitor breaks throughout the day to interact.

Will I receive a course manual?

All attendees will receive a USB flashdrive or file sharing link that will have all course materials.

Will I receive continuing education credits for attending this symposium?

YES!   The 2019 symposium was approved for 7.75 CEUs/CMEs and is approved by the BOC for certified athletic trainers. The BOC provider name is Keating Sports Inc. and the provider number is P8231. It also meets AMA PRA Category 2 credits for 7.75 CMEs. All attendees will be provided a certificate of attendance for documentation.

Is there a shuttle or transportation to and from the airport?

Individuals are responsible for their own transportation. The Las Vegas Strip is located close by the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (under 4 miles). A cab ride is a short distance and should cost under $20.

Where is the USA 7s rugby event being played?

The USA 7s event is held at UNLV’s Sam Boyd Stadium. It is approximately 9 miles from the Las Vegas Strip and takes about 20 minutes by car.

What about transportation to Sam Boyd Stadium?

Again, individuals are responsible for their own transportation. There are a few options that we would recommend. The first option would be a cab ride. They are readily available from the hotel and the cost is approximately $20 total. Split between 4 passengers this is very reasonable. The other popular option are the shuttle buses that run continually between the USA 7s partner hotels and Sam Boyd Stadium. Shuttle Bus passes will be available for purchase at the shuttle bus loading areas at our partner hotels and at Sam Boyd Stadium. Please note that purchase is available through CASH ONLY! You can purchase ahead of time when you purchase your tickets online or at the box office through UNLV.

When does the USA team play?

The Men’s team will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Do I need tickets to the event?

Yes. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here or by calling 1-888 RUGBY 7s. There are several seating options, but I personally think that the general admission/field level is the best value and best, fan-friendly environment. You can also purchase tickets at the stadium box office on the day of the event.

What will the weather be like in Las Vegas?

The forecast calls for highs near 70 during the day and lows at night around 45°. The match days will be sunny for the most part, so dress in layers. It is unlikely to rain, but of course I just jinxed us!

What should I wear to the matches?

Of course dressing for the weather is the most important – however dressing in RED,  WHITE  & BLUE is Mandatory!!! As you will see at the tournament, fans come out in hoards to support their country and dress-up in their nation’s colors and some of the craziest costumes you will ever see. So wear your Eagles or USA gear, bring a flag and be ready to scream for the home team.

Is the rugby event on TV?

Yes!!! It will be shown live on ESPN on both Saturday and Sunday. Please check back the USA 7s website for full details as it gets closer. Replays of the event will also be shown on ESPN.

Are there any other special events in Las Vegas during the weekend?

Absolutely – it’s Vegas! From shows to clubs to casinos, Las Vegas is alive 24/7. The USA 7s tournament has events and parties for fans every night beginning on Wednesday. One of the highlights is the Opening Ceremony which is a parade of all 16 teams on Fremont Street. This takes place on Thursday night at 6:30pm. It is free and no ticket is required. What is the refund policy for the course?

In the event you need to cancel your registration for a Keating Sports Inc. course, you must notify Keating Sports Inc. in writing a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the start of the course. Keating Sports Inc. will then refund the participant 75% of the total course fee(s). This refund will be mailed to the registrant within 4 weeks following the date of the course.
